roadtripIf you are traveling this summer, and most of us are, you should make sure you pack a bag that is just for the traveling. This bag is also great to keep handy if you are going to the park, the beach or even for a hike.

For the car:
Sunscreen – Everyone needs to carry sunscreen wherever they go this summer. It’s best to have a sunscreen that protects you from the UVB and UVA rays. 30 SPF is usually the perfect number to use. And see if you can find one that is also water resistant.

purellwithaloeHand Sanitizer – Now a days almost everyone carries hand sanitizer on them or in the car. Purell appears to be the best brand out there. And this one comes with Aloe so it won’t dry out your hands. I keep a pump of this in my car all year round. Washing your hands with soap and water is still the better choice, but this comes in handy when you don’t have a sink.

Bug Spray or Bracelets – After having a bad experience with chigger bites last week, I’m an even bigger believer of wearing bug spray or a bracelet. You can pick up a mosquito bracelet that works for up to 100 hours.

after bit kids
After Bite for kids – This will also come in handy if your kids get bit by something while on vacation or even out for a walk. And right now Groupon is offering a 4-Pack of After Bite for kids for just $11.99! Go here to check out this deal.

Features include:
-Offers instant relief from pain and itching after an insect bite or sting, Includes soothing baking soda, aloe, and tea tree oil, Nonstinging formula, 4 tubes, 0.7oz. per tube, Easy to carry in a purse, diaper bag, or first-aid kit
-Ingredients: sodium bicarbonate, aloe vera, leaf juice, DEA oleth 3 phosphate, DEA oleth 10 phosphate, dimethicone, emulsifying wax, eucalyptus, water, sodium hydroxide, tea tree oil, vitamin E acetate

Snacks and water – Don’t leave home without a bag full of snacks and a cooler of water. It’s hard to bring healthy snacks that can sit for long periods of time in a hot car. It may be a good idea to make your own trail mix that is healthy. Or bring a cooler with ice to keep fruit, veggies and string cheese from going bad. It can also keep your water cold.
