Simple Ways to Boost Your Heart Health!
February may be over, but it’s important to think about your heart health all year long. As Sports Moms we know we are the coach of our own teams, so it’s important we stay healthy. So in honor of hearth healthy month, here are some ways you can boost your heart health.
For just a few minutes a day, a little exercise can improve your hearth health. According to a study done by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, 15 minutes a day, five days a week can improve your muscle strength, your heart rate and your blood pressure.
-Eat foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids
By eating foods rich in Omega-3’s you can strengthen your cardiovascular system, lower blood pressure and improve your cholesterol. Most doctors would recommend 500 milligrams a day. If you don’t like foods like salmon, trout or oysters (some of the best fish you can eat for your heart) you can always take a supplement.
Other foods that will help boost your heart include; chocolate, red wine or grape juice and peanut butter!
-Laugh, laugh, laugh
Believe it or not, a good laugh can help reduce your stress levels by up to 70 percent! And when you reduce your stress levels, your heart will thank you. So at least once a day, watch a funny movie, crack a joke or simply just belt out your best belly laugh.
If you can improve on all three of these suggestions, your heart and family will thank you!
