Have you taken advantage of one of these free reading programs yet? These programs will help inspire your kids to read this summer and be ready for the upcoming school year. Here are a few of my favorites:
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Program:
This program is for kids in grades 1st – 6th!
Here Is How:
Step 1. Read any 8 books and record them in the Reading Journal
Step 2. Bring the completed Reading Journal to your local B&N store.
Step 3. Choose a FREE BOOK from our selection on the Reading Journal list at the store… Enjoy reading!
Chuck E Cheese Reading Reward Calendar:
Keep track of your reading on a calendar this summer. Then bring your calendar to a Chuck E Cheese and redeem for 10 free tokens.
Redeem this certificate and get 10 FREE tokens. Child(ren) must be present to redeem. No more than 1 of any free token offer can be used per child, per day. Only at participating locations.
Food purchase is required. Offer expires 12/31/14.
Half Price Books:
This program is for kids 14 and under. Kids earn $5 HPB Bookworm Bucks and one top reader will ear a $20 HPB Gift Card!
How kids 14-and-under can participate:
-Read for at least 15 minutes each day for a month. (Grown-ups may read aloud to kids who are still learning.)
-Add up your minutes and have your parent or guardian initial each week.
-Once you’ve read 300 minutes, turn in your completed reading log to earn your $5 HPB Bookworm Bucks reading reward for the month.
-We’ll award one top reader per age group each month with a TOP READER prize – a $20 HPB Gift Card!*
Scholastic Summer Challenge:
Kids can create an online account to keep track of their reading. When the reading minutes start to add up, you can earn prizes. Each week, kids can spin the Prize Wheel to win digital prizes like book & audio chapters. You can also help set a new reading world record. This reading program runs through September 5th.
