With the spring sports season coming to an end this month for many sports, it’s time to think about what to do your for team or your athlete to celebrate the end of another successful season. My son’s baseball team will finish their season this week with a season ending party to follow. Last season we went to a local park, handed out trophies and had snacks. It was a great way to celebrate the season and the kids were able to just play. But there are some other things you can do to celebrate.
1- Plan a season ending team party
This party can be as simple as a house party or as crazy as a competition between the team and the coaches. Other ideas include laser tag, the trampoline park, bowling or an ice cream social. Make it fun for everyone!
2- Plan an awards ceremony
It’s always a good idea to encourage kids to keep playing. So why not hand out awards to each child for something special they contributed. For example, best play, best team player, best cheerleader etc. A little encouragement goes a long way.
3- Plan a trip to a professional sporting event
What better way to celebrate a successful football or soccer season then to see the pros in action.
4- Put together a scrapbook
Kids love to remember their season in pictures. So create a scrapbook of pictures, notes, schedules, newspaper clippings and anything else that reminds your child of the season.
5- Let your athlete pick their treat
It might be a good idea to let your child pick something to do to celebrate. Maybe take them to a movie or a trip to their favorite ice cream shop.
It’s always a great idea to put an end to a great season with something the kids will always remember!
