March Madness us upon us!!!! And whether or not you are a college basketball fan, you probably have filled out a bracket that looks like this.

And you have probably already heard the phrase “Bracketology” which is defined as “the process of predicting the field of the NCAA Basketball Tournament, named as such because it is commonly used to fill in tournament brackets for the postseason.

What makes “bracketology” so much fun is that you don’t have to know a thing about college basketball to fill one out or even win your office pool.  I have to admit I haven’t followed college basketball very closely at all this season.  All I know is that the Texas Longhorns didn’t make it this year!  But my husband’s favorite team, the Ohio State Buckeyes, did!  So we have a routing interest in this season’s tournament.

But that wouldn’t matter in our house!  Every year my husband and I fill out brackets.  We meticulously go bracket by bracket to fill out our winners.  I will admit it’s hard not to select all of the top 1 or 2 seeds to win everything.  But occasionally a team pops up that either hasn’t been in the tournament in a while or is known for pulling the upset.  I usually like to pick those teams.  You never know what can happen and you may just get a leg up on your competitors if you pick a few upsets.  But be careful, picking an upset that doesn’t win can throw off your entire bracket.

I think what I like most about filling out brackets is that everyone is included and it brings together sports and non-sports fans to root on young men and women who give it their all to play basketball.  So if you haven’t already filled out a bracket, go here and print one out.  Show your support for these athletes who are playing at the top of their game.

Go Buckeyes!

You are you picking to win it all?  Let us know in the comment section below!
